El Rincón del Pescador
Family-run tapas bar in the old quarter. Tiny, loud, and brilliant. The grilled octopus and jamón croquetas are worth building your evening around.
La Rampa doesn’t advertise. It doesn’t need to. The local fishermen bring their catch here first, and the kitchen does very little to it beyond grilling it properly.
The daily fish is always the right choice. Ask what came in that morning — vieja (parrotfish) and cherne (grouper) appear regularly. The papas arrugadas are correct: wrinkled, salty, served with both mojos. Don’t skip them.
The house salad is large enough for two as a starter.
The tourist-facing menu has pasta dishes and burgers. They exist to reassure nervous holidaymakers and are fine but not the point of coming here.
Book ahead for terrace tables in July and August. The interior is perfectly pleasant but you’re missing the view. Cash preferred, card accepted.
